There was once a famous Nikon advert that said "I am Jeff Sof", well, not exactly those words but .... here I am, a UK based street photographer, capturing images that I find both quirky and interesting.
Having had the 'privilege' of getting my hands on my dad's old Halina camera for a school trip to France back in junior school and then either fogging the film (or could it have been that my dad hadn't loaded it properly), anyhow, it sparked an interest in photography that I just couldn't shake off. At that young impressionable age, I had a dream which was to learn to shoot photos just like the great David Bailey.
I cut my teeth on the monolithic Zenith E, followed by an Olympus OM10, I then ventured and stayed committed to Minolta (until they stopped making cameras).
A little later I went on to invest in a Nikon which proved to be a great workhorse for weddings, christenings and events but eventually my love for 'street photography' took over to which I must thank the very talented photographer, artist and printmaker, Andrew Pegram.
I have since changed my allegiance to Fujifilm, mainly because of the compactness and image quality of their X-mount cameras which is better suited to the work I do.
I am Jeff Sof and I shoot quirky people .... (and places)
Welcome to my world, come, look a little closer, because things aren't always as they seem .......
